Shaker Candle Box

These heirloom-quality boxes traditionally held a supply of candles for lighting the home, and still serve that purpose quite well today, especially for those emergencies when finding a candle in a hurry in the dark is important. They are readily adapted to our modern lifestyles, providing a very attractive medium to store such things as remote controls. The boxes are hand crafted in selected solid hardwoods, utilizing box joint joinery reminiscent of the Shaker tradition and craftsmanship. The edges are eased, inviting one to handle the piece and enjoy the warmth of the wood and the softness of the lines. The bottom is solid wood, and is secured in a dado to ensure stability and longevity. The top slides in a groove, facilitating easy access to the contents of the box. Each box is hand-finished using an old Shaker recipe. Treat your senses and your home to a timeless item of the past, an item which will delight the owner or recipient of this gift.
As selectable at right, various wood choices and sizes(with corresponding pricing as applicable) may be specified for your order; and different wood species can be mixed for a very attractive look.
