Five years later the band recorded their debut album at the CCR studios - 'Angel Inside' was released November 2002 on The Spew Records. The album sold out pretty fast and Welkin played some international festivals like Obscene extreme and Steel warriors rebellion, and visited stages home and abroad. In the meantime, the band continued to grow both in terms of music and songwriting and was walking a more deathmetal path. By the end of 2004 Welkin was starting to feel that itch again. In 2005 the sonic death monkeys concentrated on writing new material. They played on some special occasions like "Fuck the student" and "TAZ 2005" but other than that silence surrounded the Welkin HQ. But as we were about to enter 2006 they were ready to hit the studio. March 2006 the monkeysquad entered THE MAX studios in Brugge to record "The_Origin".
