The wakizashi is the companion blade to the standard Japanese Katana. It is the short blade, used for defense, ceremonial purposes, and of course for seppuku. This is an excellent blade for close-quarters combat and is MOST useful in small, cramped spaces.
Th handle is leather-wrapped for a beter grip and for authenticity. It is crafted from an extremely durable foam that does not shred, which has been sealed within a strong coating of latex. This weapon also features a round, flexible fiberglass core that bends and flexes, capped with Kevlar for protection against punch-through.
The Wakizashi has an average overall length of approximately 24 inches. Please be aware that this measurement can vary slightly, as it is a hand-made item.
